To all the students I had the privilege to teach or work with, thank you.

To all the staff who supported me and showed me the ropes, thank you.

This experience was a beautiful learning and growing opportunity that I will never forget.

Thanks again!

You will all be missed.

Salad Day Was A Sucess!

Thanks to everyone for taking care of their plants and bringing them into class to cultivate and share. I hope this has inspired you to grow your own food. It is so simple, fun and healthy!

Will be visiting our outdoor ed. 8/9 classroom June 3rd.  The presentation will cover the following:

– Short video on SAR in BC
– How SAR works in BC
– How SAR works in Fernie
– Typical responses SAR deals with, and how to avoid the dangers initially, and how to help the response if you are involved.
– They will try and cover typical hazards around here for young people: snow, rivers and lakes, hiking, wild animals, wilderness travel.
– They will also talk about additional issues we have dealt with over the years with this age group (illicit trips and bush drives, alcohol, drugs)
– How technology can help
– And provide a few safety handouts (whistles, survival blankets)

Can’t wait!
