Concours D’art Oratoire

In May every year, Canadian Parents for French BC & Yukon Branch, hosts the Provincial Concours d’art oratoire. The CPF Concours d’art oratoire offers hundreds of prizes to participants, including: university scholarships, trips to Ottawa, books, medals, merchandise, cash and more.

Last year, more than 10,000 students in grades 6 through 12 participated in the Concours in communities throughout BC, almost 300 students participated in the Provincial Concours, and 4 students participated in the National Concours in Ottawa.

Teachers and parents have been organizing Concours for over 30 years, and for many students, it’s now part of the curriculum.

Fernie Secondary School will be hosting our Concours:

Wednesday, March 12th in Room 137

6:30-7:30 pm

Students in French immersion from grades 7, 8, and 9 will be sharing their 3-5 minute speeches.  At the end of the evening, three guest judges, will choose the 3 lucky participants from each grade to attend the finals in Cranbrook on April 4th from 10 am – 12 pm.

Please attend to cheer on your child and support French in our community!

If possible, please bring a dessert to share.
